December 2003 Successfully obtained PhD in Neuropharmacology at Advanced Biotechnology Center in Genoa.
May 2000 Qualified as a biologist-(148/150).
Nov. 93-Dec. 98 Master of Biological Science at Univ. of Genoa- Graduated with full marks and honours in Biology- bio-molecular course. Title of Thesis "Biological effets of neurotoxic pharmaceutical products on the early embryonal development of sea urchin".
Part of this project has been carried out in the laboratory of Physiology and Toxicology at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis-France with Prof. J.P. Girard as my Senior supervisor.
July 93 Obtained school-leaving certificate awarded after five years of “Liceo” specialising in humanistic studies at the state Liceo “A.D’Oria” of Genoa.

March-April 2003 Attended the “Advanced Course in Biotechnology Ethics”, held at the Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay, Cernay, France ; from March 29 to April 4, 2003; sponsored by the European Commission.
Dec. 2002 Attended the “Tracking Biomolecules into the Cell. 4th Intensive Pratical Workshop on Confocal and Two-photon Microscopy”, at the Department of Physics, Laboratory for Advances Microscopy, Bioimaging and Spectroscopy.
July 2002 Received a Travel Fellowship from the Scientific Program Committee of Alzheimer’s Association in amount of 350$ to partecipate to the 8th Alzheimer’s Disease Conference in Stockolm .

1999-2002 Carried out studies for the identification of phosphorylated amino-terminal and carboxy-terminal fragments of the amyloid precursor protein in Alzheimer’s disease and Down’s syndrome.
During these years I studied the interaction of ShcA/Grb2 adaptor proteins with C-terminal fragments of the amyloid precursor protein in the human Central Nervous System, both in Alzheimer’s disease brains and in Down’s syndrome brains, and also in fibroblasts cultured cells.
1996-1997 Studied in Erasmus-Socrates program at the Nice-Sophia Antipolis University (France).
1997-1998 Studied the biological and pharmacological effects of neurotoxical products on the early embryonal development of the sea urchin.
1996-1997 Studied toxicological and microtubules-dependent effects of Caulerpenine , a toxin extracted from Caulerpa taxifolia during the first mitotic division of the sea urchin.
May1997 Rapporteur of a seminar in french language : "Effets de la Caulerpenine sur les evenements mitotiques chez les oeufs d’ousin" at the Laboratory of Physiology and Toxicology at the University of Nice-Sophia –Antipolis, France.
